Finalists revealed for new Jenks flag

June 20, 2019

The voting is open to select Jenks' new flag.

The Jenks Flag project, a joint effort of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce and EMERGE, the chamber's young professionals group, started a process earlier this year to solicit feedback, create a creative brief, and solicit designs for a new flag. A panel reviewed the designs and scored them. The top 5 designs were forwarded as the finalists for the project.

To vote, visit JenksFlag.com.

The winning design will be revealed at the Jenks America Freedom Fest on July 4 at the Jenks Downtown Commons.

Voting is open until Thursday, June 27.

Creative Brief released for Jenks Flag project

May 9, 2019

After several weeks of gathering public input via an online survey, the Jenks Flag Project released its Creative Brief.

The Brief is to serve as an inspirational document for flag designers, not as a checklist for items to include in the flag, Project leaders said.

Interested parties can download the Brief here.

The Creative Brief is available for designers to review and design a flag based upon the information. Designers do not have to be residents of Jenks to compete.

The designs will then be evaluated by a committee of graphic design experts, who will create a list of finalists to be voted on by the public.

Jenks Chamber, young professionals group, launch project for new Jenks flag

April 19, 2019

The Jenks Chamber of Commerce and EMERGE, the Chamber’s young professionals program, have launched a project to create a new flag for the City of Jenks.

The Jenks Flag Project is a three-month initiative that will end with the unveiling of a winning flag design at the Chamber’s Jenks America Freedom Fest on July 4.

“Flags are an iconic part of a community,” Jenks Chamber of Commerce president Josh Driskell said. “This project strives to create something we can all identify with and can identify Jenks.”

Mitchell Sims, a member of EMERGE and the Jenks Flag Project’s steering committee said the flag project will gather information from citizens across Jenks.

“The Jenks Flag Project will collect information from citizens of all ages and backgrounds in Jenks,” Sims said. “We look forward to collecting all of this information and using it to help create something that will be uniquely Jenks’.”

The project kicked off with an announcement at the Chamber’s April 17 luncheon.

For two weeks, residents can visit JenksFlag.com and fill out a survey with questions ranging from color choices to iconic buildings and places in Jenks.

That data will be assembled in a creative brief and made available for designers to review and design a flag based upon the information. Designers do not have to be residents of Jenks to compete.

The designs will then be evaluated by a committee of graphic design experts, who will create a list of finalists to be voted on by the public.
